Literature Text

Somewhere in the night you met me.
My defenses were down and you found me.
My pillow was wet with tears of pain;
I thought you had left but you’re with me again.
And I’m lost and defeated;
I’m feeling cheated.
But you are here,
Whispering in my ear:

“Shine, child, here in the middle.
This is not a valley, nor a hill;
It’s here in the middle and even here
When you ask me to come, I will.”

Somewhere in the night you call me.
My heart was awake and you found me.
So I lie half asleep, barely awake
Feeling so numb- a feeling I hate;
Like I don’t know if I should
Cry; if I could,
I would not hesitate.
And for now I wait

You whisper, “Shine on tonight”
And with a blessing, much like a kiss
You break my heart and reform it-
I could get used to this.

Somewhere in the night I am with you.
You remind me again, “Child, I love you.”
The shadows of the night no more
Come lurking at my bedroom door.
I’m lost in your grace
I’m seeking your face
My pain is gone
With the wings of the dawn,

For you say to me, “Child it’s time
To catch up on all that we’ve missed.
Feel my blessings like kisses all night;
Child, I could get used to this.”
One of my favorite poems so far... it was totally random, stemming from a very romantic moment after a very troubled week. I thought it one of the more powerful outpourings of God from my pen and I thought I'd share it.

very nice the way you changed the tone! the description about what you felt is fast, which really lets me feel the posetive overall tone! amazing, absolutely wonderful ^^
