Literature Text

It's only you for all my life, I swear--
And all my heart will long for til I die.
My soul and mind will long for God, but I--
I've given you my heart and body, dear.

Some moments draw me wayward into fear
Away from God, from you; I don't know why.
It's only you for all my life. I swear,
And all my heart will long for til I die.

I've loved you with a passion for some years
And I will love with peace now by and by.
A love that settles calmly to a sigh;
Firm and steadfast, old and pure and rare.
It's only you for all my life, I swear;
And all my heart will long for til I die.
Day eleven of the May Sonnet Challenge. Sorry I got behind--my husband and I moved from our apartment into our first house! Very exciting, but very busy. Hopefully I can get these last three done before my trip next week. :) Thanks for reading, all!
This is a French sonnet, or rondel prime.
