Literature Text
I'm asking for pain
To feel her fears.
I'm asking for sorrow
To cry all her tears.
You asked me to be
Like you to the world;
You felt my pain,
So help me feel hers.
If somehow it takes
Some pain from her heart,
Then lay it on me;
Let the fearfulness start.
Oh Lord, let my heart
Ache without ceasing
If somehow it keeps
Her own from increasing.
You bore my pain,
My sin and my shame
And you bore hers
On your holy name.
You ease all my woes
But also you said
"Bear each other's burdens"
Written in red.
So if I right now
Can erase her tears
Then lay on me
Her sorrow and fears.
Wound my heart til it breaks
And break it again
As long as you take
Away all her pain.
I don't know her hurt
Unless you show me now
I want so much
To help her somehow.
What else can I do?
What could I have done?
How can I show her
That you are the one?
You made her and formed her
Breathed into her life;
You already bore
All her sorrow and strife.
I know this, Lord,
But really, does she?
And would she listen
If she heard it from me?
Tell her she's lovely
Tell her she's loved
Tell her she's gifted
And blessed from above.
She's beautiful, sweet,
Perfect, it's true.
What the world says is nothing,
For the world isn't you.
She doesn't beleive it
Down in her heart,
And so I am asking
To play a small part.
Let tears cascade down
Let my heart break in two
'Til her pain is removed
And she's resting in you.
To feel her fears.

My Affair
I appreciate your willingness
to forgive me and take me back,
but I didnt say
I was coming back.
Im sorry I hurt you,
broke all the promises
encircling the third
finger of my left hand,
but I don't need the
excuses of hormones
or mid-life; I knew
what I was doing.
Yes, hes gone.
You tell me with
pity that he made
a fool of me,
but I see the
triumph in your eyes,
the joy in my
despair
that backlights
your face, that
justifies your
exulting
over the heartbreak
that I so thoroughly
deserve for making
you suffer.
Yes, hes gone.
Yes, Im broken,
my heart in pieces,
dust and ashes.
But
Literature
Listen
A voice in the darkness
A quiet whisper on the wind
I wonder what we'd hear
If we took time and listened?
A murmur in your soul
A persistent urging to act
Too often shoved aside
Because of doubt and faith we lacked.
A commanding presence
A gentle nudging from within
God will communicate
If we only choose to listen.
A scripture that leaps out
An amazing answer to prayer
Be still and wait for Him
To speak to you, with faith not fear.
Literature
ache
a day gray with storms,
a weary afternoon
of wind and rain
I wish you
were here
I would lean
against your
broad back as you
work at your computer,
listening to the keys
click beneath
your fingers
until you paused
at the end of a line
and cocked your
head toward me,
waiting
I would kiss
the side of your
neck and ask
you to make
love to me,
and you would
smile and
say yes
and in your
hands, I would
not feel so alone
in the world
but you are
not here
theres only silence
muffled by
rain

This isn't the most well-written poem because it's simply a prayer straight from the heart. It's a raw plea for God's help on behalf of someone very dear to me. I didn't know what to do for her, so I wrote this.

there's a little typo at the last part, *believe.
still this piece speaks to me so very much, thank you for sharing these God-given words.
