Literature Text

I'm asking for pain
To feel her fears.
I'm asking for sorrow
To cry all her tears.
You asked me to be
Like you to the world;
You felt my pain,
So help me feel hers.

If somehow it takes
Some pain from her heart,
Then lay it on me;
Let the fearfulness start.
Oh Lord, let my heart
Ache without ceasing
If somehow it keeps
Her own from increasing.

You bore my pain,
My sin and my shame
And you bore hers
On your holy name.
You ease all my woes
But also you said
"Bear each other's burdens"
Written in red.

So if I right now
Can erase her tears
Then lay on me
Her sorrow and fears.
Wound my heart til it breaks
And break it again
As long as you take
Away all her pain.
I don't know her hurt
Unless you show me now
I want so much
To help her somehow.

What else can I do?
What could I have done?
How can I show her
That you are the one?
You made her and formed her
Breathed into her life;
You already bore
All her sorrow and strife.
I know this, Lord,
But really, does she?
And would she listen
If she heard it from me?

Tell her she's lovely
Tell her she's loved
Tell her she's gifted
And blessed from above.
She's beautiful, sweet,
Perfect, it's true.
What the world says is nothing,
For the world isn't you.

She doesn't beleive it
Down in her heart,
And so I am asking
To play a small part.
Let tears cascade down
Let my heart break in two
'Til her pain is removed
And she's resting in you.
This isn't the most well-written poem because it's simply a prayer straight from the heart. It's a raw plea for God's help on behalf of someone very dear to me. I didn't know what to do for her, so I wrote this.
