Literature Text

Heroes raise a shout, a sword, a shield,
Through fog of war and clash of steel and wood--
Furious as flame and without pause,
High behind the remparts; in the field.
Rage, oh brave Achilles, for the good--
Fight, Odysseus for such a cause
As gods and kings deem fit. And raise alarms
Against the work of fate and guileless men.
This is the sort of war a hero fights.
But sweetly, you use words: I'm in your arms.
And look: you've done me in.
Curtal sonnet for day 25 of NaPo. The title comes from the Iliad. :)
